Classic Approach To Poetry,
With a Modern Edge.
R.T. Remington is a 35 year old Native American & Italian Father, Poet, Hasselblad Photographer, Producer, and Musician living in North Carolina with his two children. Remington is creating a stir and curiosity in the literary world with his rejuvenating play with words, which paints bleak overtones in his poetry, with an obvious influence of one of his favorite writers, Stephen King.
The young writer is presently in the process of finishing his First book Release of collected poems that he is calling “Anthropoda.” It sets a Bukowski like honesty and wit about it. Remington writes down the words we all wish to convey, for those who have gone through the unfortunate undertaking of divorce.
The Poem “Follia” was inspired by Tom Waits thriller story “What’s he building in there?” It tells a grim tale of a man who has reached his breaking point. He was weary of all the world had to offer him.
Remington then takes Inspiration from Hemingway and Cohen where he writes of love, and the joy it brings. Poems like “Caterina,” “How can I forget?” or “Two Watches, Different Times”, reveal the more romantic and intimate side to the poet.
Remington even covered the story of the world renown ballerina, Anna Pavlova. Also known as “The Dying Swan.” The writer takes us on a journey of Anna’s early years when she was introduced to the tailored composition. The photograph of Anna at the pond near Ivy House in London, and her untimely death in 1931. Further into the book, Remington writes a Christmas story called “Lichens & Dried Sedges” as a bedtime story for his children.
The Poet also goes into detail of his past life involving memories of Cults, and His Father. Poems like “Fidelio” which was influenced by these interactions, as well as Stanley Kubrick’s Cult Movie, “Eyes Wide Shut.”
R.T. Remington’s “Athropoda” is set to release the Fall of 2025.
